Mile Stones for Competitive paintball

With Fielding hosting the most competitive teams in the Lower North Island it’s time Wellington stepped back up to the plate. Paintball Corp has decided to make that happen. We have been working with old team members of the Wolves of Willis and discussing with our team how we can best resurrect competitive paintball in Wellington.

Stage 1: Growth

Our goal is to reach 40 players attending a fortnightly game for three consecutive fortnights or have a single day with 50 people.

  • Games will be held fornightly on a Saturday.

  • Competitive games will be based on a ladder competition and players will hand in-game cards for table scoring. An end of term trophy will be given to each winning team.

  • 20 Sponsorships for school-age players.

  • Up to 5 sponsorships for Pro players.

Stage 2: Growth

Our goal is to reach in excess of 35 players for 4 consecutive Saturdays

  • Games held every Saturday

  • Achieve this before April 15.

Stage 3: Competition

  • Alongside regular training and casual games a 6 week tournament roster will be created and run on Sundays. Teams will compete against one team every Sunday.

  • Competition games will have a 15 minute game time, first to 5 competition.

  • 4 teams restored to play at a time, up to 8 times in a day = 32 teams in competition, could go to games every half our.

  • Implement on May 14th

Stage 4: advanced competition

  • Starting the next 6 week block we will host a placing tournament which will define the decisions teams play in.

  • Placing tournament will be classic elimination games with a 3 min time cap

  • Mid week training days open for schools to practice.

Explained in more depth

School sponsorships

  • Free paintballs - 450 paintballs free every time they come

  • Free gear hire

  • Free entry

  • Minimum attendance - Sponsored players must have both an 80% attendance rate to fortnightly games and if they do miss a game they may not miss more than 1 consecutive game.

  • Fair play - Sponsored players will be responsible for ensuring a fun environment. Greeting new players, showing them around and inviting them to games. If a sponsored player is seen to standoff-ish or rude to new players then it will immediately terminate their sponsorship. We are trying to create a fun environment where everyone feels welcome.

Pro Sponsorships

These players are defined by having their own kit. There will be a kitty of paintballs available to for use. These players will be required to sign off that they know our safety rules and will be a tool to actively enforce these rules.

Spnsorship email

We are assembling a competitive regular paintball group, we have notice many of your students play paintball with us and it would be a great start to offer your students a sponsorship in the series.

About the Series
We are a winter sport and compete from the 14th of May to the 1st of October. However, practice games will start on February the 19th. The season consists of 15 game days and the pre-season consists of 6 game days for 21 game days in total.

Our divisions are split into mechanical and open. Mechanical paintball is a fantastic place to start, it’s cheap to get the equipment and the play is slower. In mechanical competition, new players can really learn how to move. Our mechanical division enables young players to play with old players and experienced to play with inexperienced Because paintball is a contactless sport.

Players do not need commit to buying any gear or coming to any number of games. We have significantly subsidised the costs to play which are now:

Entry Fee (booked online) :$29, Includes equipment and 150 paintballs*
Entry Fee (walk on): $35, Includes equipment and 150 paintballs*
Or,
Term fees $100 (optional, replaces entry fee), does not include equipment or paintballs*
*Players may bring their own equipment and paintballs, or purchase additional equipment and paintballs from us.

Paintballs: Players may bring their own paintballs or purchase them onsite at $8 for a pod of 150, $20 for a bag of 500, $20 for 3 pods of 150, or $70 for 2000. It’s recommended that players account for using 300-500 paintballs a game day. Conservative players may get away with only 150 paintballs. It’s recommended that players pay for paintballs as an entire team and split the costs accordingly.

Games and training are held fortnightly, Players will play in several ladder competitions in term 1 and our 5v5 competition start term 3.

Ages: This is open to everyone aged 13+

We would love it if you can please add this to your sports programmes.
